Let me tell you what you need for an awesome trip in Australia. We all love travelling, we love to be swept away off our feet with expectations about other countries' culture and of course anticipating the delicious local food. I've been fortunate enough to pay a visit to the nearest English speaking country, Australia (let's not put Singapore into the game) last September and it's really an eye opening trip.

But it would be better if just someone would tell me these 5 tips. (But these tips are more applicable to those heading Sydney or probably Melbourne, not sure if it will be useful in other cities)

1. Do not underestimate the weather. I repeat, DO NOT.
I was told that it's gonna be around 16 to 23 celcius degree back then, and I am like:

"That's alright, it's just like air conditioned room. No biggies. "

And truth is, it's not the chilliness that kills my feet, it's the wind! I am constantly shivering in Sydney on the first few days (because Sydney surrounded by sea, the wind force can be really strong and super chilly) the short skirt that I brought is sitting on the luggage bag throughout the trip.

Just because it's cold and chilly, don't forgot that Australia's sun can be hostile! Remember to bring a hat or cap if you don't want to bring back some Australian freckles as a souvenir!

Must remember:
1. Hat / Sunblock
2. Sunglasses
3. warm pants & clothes
4. MOISTURISER

No matter if you are going to Australia during the winter, summer or spring. Australia's air is dry. You going to have a pair of cracked lips or itchy dry skin if you forgot the moisturiser at home!

2. Get a good camera, and a "camera man".
It's a blessing that I went there with Leon and he basically trained now and graduated as my personal photographer. All my pictures are taken with Sony A5000 and I bought it just for this trip at RM1400 in Penang.

My rational is, you are going to another country, you are going to spend, the exchange rate is high, poor one like me will probably not have the fund and chance to visit for the second time, so invest in a good camera, keep all the memory! It's the most legal and cheapest way to "STEAL" Australia home.

After all, the best thing about Sydney, is the overwhelming view. Take some nice pictures!

3. Order "Lime and bitters" and relax
Lime and Bitters is a mock-tail, no alcohol (no worry to my non-drinking friends!) Best time in Sydney I could recall is sitting next to the sea with lime and bitters on my right hand, sea breeze sweeping over my face. It's an overwhelming experience, the view, and the best Lime and Bitters (tried some other bar it taste shitty). Don't forgot to order some snack to serve with you drinks! Highly recommend the fries!

My recommendations:
Opera Bar and kitchen.
While listening to the live music, I am enjoying how the whole ambiance taking me away, somewhere far, far far away.

And of course, before Opera house, don't forget to pay a visit the most interesting and iconic architecture, the Sydney Opera House.

4. Shopping, shop wisely!
I guess if you googled "what to buy in Australia", you can never runaway from a list of drug stores that you should visit, simply because Australia health products are JUST SO CHEAP. How cheap is cheap you ask me?

Branded Blackmores Fish Oil for say, 200 capsules for only $14.39 AUD. Say if exchange rate is 3.2, can you get Blackmores in Malaysia for less than RM50?
screen-cap from Discount Chemist website
BUY! Most thoughtful souvenir ever.

If you are keen on shopping in Australia, I probably suggest you forget about buying clothing unless you are planning to buy off season items, or health products. Oh yes, and also chocolate.

My recommendations:
1. Discount Chemist - for health products and cologne
2. Sweet As - chocolates and sweets

Buying chocolate in Sweet As can be tricky, do remember check their expiry date. If you are not going to keep them too long, try to buy those that will expire soon. They are so cheap, and still good for souvenir. Cheap as in 500g for $4 AUD, and I am talking brand like Lindt. I got some for my friends and they ask me for more, you can definitely rest assured they will be finished before expiry!

I spent around $150 AUD just on the health products and chocolate. #broke.

5. Backpack & comfortable shoes are essential.
My trip in Australia include 2 days in Sydney, 2 days tour to Philip Island and 5 days in Melbourne, we barely spend on transport (except for Philip Island). For that much of walking, a nice, comfortable kicks is really important. Forgot about heels, they doesn't work it ways through.

I also learnt that it's a MUST to bring a backpack around to put your drinks, snacks and also some tour guides map. It's extra convenient!

6. Don't forgot there is GST!
Australian have to pay a rather high GST every item they bought. However, as a tourist, if you spend $300 AUD or more in goods from a single retailer, you are eligible for a refund of the goods and services tax (GST) that you paid on those items. You must get an original tax invoice from the store where you made the purchase and present it when you depart Australia!

Hello, let not so famous Carina tell you something about the famous Nivea. #chuckles

So I got a box full of Nivea products for review and of course, no worries, I have too much and guess what? GIVEAWAY? Yes.

Nivea products always related to beauty, but what is beauty without bouncy and healthy skin? If you still go through the hassle like my fellow friends here that has the Sahara desert dry skin, I guess you should put Nivea Skin Conditioner into consideration.

Today we will only review Nivea In-shower Conditioner (intensive, hydrating and whitening) and I am shocked that I have so many friends who has dry skin as the question that I sent out from Facebook has a big response and feedback. Thought Malaysia is a humid country? #cannotbrain

And yes I know some of you readers (especially my close friends) are sick of my face, so today, may I present you my close friend, Ash Ang and also Nadia See to review on Nivea in-Shower Conditioner for me, ok?

"First when I received Nivea in-shower, the scent do attracts me as I totally detest strong "cologne" kind of smell on my skin. After a couple of days trying out these products, i find it improves my skin condition. My skin is now more moisturised. It can feel like a layer of wax at first, but I guess it's because I have no experience with applying lotion or have anything on my skin before. But after you get used to it, it really does not bother me anymore.

The pricing set at reasonable price and it's really convenient for lazy girl like me who doesn't do the normal moisturizing routine on my skin.

One suggestion, make into travel packs, and also improve on the intensive in-shower graphic as it looks like an pad #chuckles"  - Ash Ang  (tried Nivea in-shower hydrating, intensive and whitening skin conditioner)

Another friend of mine who has suffered from dry skin all the while found that the product made her skin so moisturised to a level she thought her skin felt so foreign to her. She tried in-shower skin conditioner intensive moisturizing and said:
"The packaging is relatively normal and does not look innovative for a lotion product. Only by picking it up at the store and reading it closely only would I know it's uniqueness. Pricing wise, I think it is affordable for it's product range and that extra factor.

The fragrance is not too strong for a lotion, making me love it even more as i am not a big fan of lotion wit a strong scent.

Where as for the touch/ texture, I feel it is more compact and smooth, making it easy to apply in shower compared to your normal lotion. I do think it is a very innovative product as there is no brand that has this feature, but it definitely still need some changes to it to further improvise it's texture and bottle design to make it more shower friendly." - Nadia See (probably the woman that has the most dry skin I have ever met. )

And probably you may ask, why and how does it works?
Simply because when we are showering, our pores are open. So at this time, you apply a moisturising agent, especially the special formulated Nivea in-shower Skin conditioner, and during this time, your skin absorbs the conditioner better.

Nowadays online shopping has basically take over a lot of the retail shopping. Seriously, some shops even offer free postage to send it back if you're not satisfy with the size or quality, who else would bother finding parking in the mall for hours just to shop for clothes?

But then hor, I have this problem, I must say: I am so addicted to online shopping.(shh. Don't tell my bf I used his credit card)
I don't get easily satisfied by the online shops anymore as the products are literally repeated and I can't really tell what most of the online sellers are selling those clothes from Taobao, the China operated online shopping website (similar to Amazon or Ebay).

A while ago I subscribed to Fancy, and it's just so cool as they sell all really cool stuff #Iswear like these:

Some are even unlikely to found on other websites. Look at this iPhone case:
SO dang cool right?

But then I always ended up NOT buying because

They don't deliver to Malaysia.

Yeap. They just don't.

Yeah, nothing delivers to Malaysia.
Not even the Michelle Phan's EM Cosmetics delivers to Malaysia, before but now I checked again and there is a direct link to this delivery service and they charge me this price:

1kg for USD35.63!

Which means : 35.63 x 3.5 = RM125+

That's a rip off!!!!

Limbeh cannot afford! :(

So I must find a way to ship my stuff here CHEAPER, and must be still in good condition as I've heard alot stories about shipment got stolen and yadda yadda. Also, I've been experiencing really bad delays and bad attitudes from the courier service, wtf, which I will talk in my future post... ok today will just get back to the main topic.

I received an email stating that I could have free postage (once) from Shop and Ship to ship to Malaysia from overseas. I am so keen to try but I couldn't help but being skeptical to think that what if it's a fraud or thinking could it be some really bad courier service. I'm born a pessimist lol.

I checked their website online and apparently the website looks pretty professional. Not dodgy, nothing irrelevant and what attracts me the most of course is this chart, their prices and available country for shipment:

SO MUCH MORE REASONABLE RIGHT!

I was thinking since it's free so why not giving it a try, so far Shop and Ship is the most reasonable courier service I've seen.
I tested their service by ordering a heat protector for my hair.

And guess what, only took them 3 working days to deliver my order.

3 working days!

So efficient, I MAJOR MAJOR LOVE THIS! And this experiment parcel really enlightened me, as I definitely will shop more online now OMG!! Actually been thinking to buy Prada from Paris too. #taitailife

And also the best part is usually other courier services will charge me extra if I ship sensitive products like liquid based product, and they charge reasonably based on country. They differ the pricing from zone to zone.

In conclusion, with Shop and Ship courier services, you only have to pay RM45 for 0.5kg no matter where the item ships from whether it may be HK, USA, UK, South Africa etc (all from zone 1 chart above).

Seriously Shop and Ship, so glad that I have taken the leap of faith to try out the services.

Ok now I am ordering Em Cosmetic through Shop and Ship, whoever wants to buy together together please comment below okay! It’s Chinese New Year very soon!

ALSO,
I have a Promo Code created from Shop and Ship specially for YOU who reading this very long post:

When I heard all the stories about other people who got hacked, I secretly thought that I would have  been lucky enough to skip that part of shit in my life, it's just like story about ghosts that you've heard like a thousand million times, but it's just not that everybody that's lucky/unlucky enough to have seen it.

So, I thought I could have lucked out for another year of sailing smooth financially as a student with #happilyeverafter ending, and yeah, it's really a heart attack for me on the 3rd day of New Year, realizing Santa Claus or whosoeverfuck have left me a giant present for me on the 30th of December, it's kind of #hello2015 present or #goodbye2014 present. - Me got hacked.

So that I called Maybank trying to solve this and apparently this time they pick up their call very fast. No more all the press-press-intercom-service-dumb-computer-talk-so-slow-every-time pissed me off too. So next time if you all have urgent problem dealing with Maybank please call this 03-58914744.

The whole story starts with I received an SMS like this:
RM0.00 Your MSOS Code is 233035 for online txn at www,aliexpress.com of USDasumofbigmoney Code will expire in 4 mins.

I received this SMS at freaking 3:50am and I thought it is a scam whereby I've never buy anything from aliexpress.com and the reason I thought it's a scam is I have no idea what is MSOS code, I only know what is TAC code.

So I ignored it.

The next day, I received another SMS like this:
RM0.00 Your MSOS Code is 731733 for online txn at Lazada of IDR 2132220.00. Code will expire in 4 mins.

I didn't see any money transaction, again, I am clueless, and I conclude that MSOS code is a discount code. And not until I checked my account and saw the numbers and trace back all the matching dates with the SMS. Dang!

Damn stupid cause lately all kinds of banks have been sending me some promotion stuff which I don't need! So I cannot be blamed for ignoring an important message like that!

It feels better tho that the customer service reacts very fast in picking up my call and also handling my case very professionally. (not sure if he studied psychology but it really calms me down) Guess I am left no choice but to trust them.

But the nerves racking moment just doesn't end like that. A few days later, I received Public Bank SMS saying that I spend 35RM online again. I am like NUUUUWAY. First Maybank now Public Bank? Not another scam! I called them really angrily, and the slow-speaking-intercom just pissed me off so much. At last when somebody picked up the phone I am already at my boiling point. LOL. Long story short, it's a misunderstanding cause I've set an a auto-transaction for my website. #soembarassing

So I think I have to know more about this whole hack is about and learnt that from a lot of my friends they have similar experience. I really doubt that Maybank online transaction security is it really on par for a business of their size.

I checked what is MSOS code exactly and look what I found!
MSOS Code is a One-Time-Password (OTP) for Online Transaction which is an extension of VBV/ MasterCard SecureCode...this new enhances security feature takes advantage of mobile communication by sending the MSOS Code to your registered mobile number with Maybank. You will be required to enter the MSOS Code online to complete the transaction

Bullshit! Where is the enhanced security whereby I have no problem before, but only when your new stupid MSOS code got implemented I got problems?

“Maybankard's multiple layers of protection give you an extraordinary level of security, so you can feel confident whenever and wherever you use your card.”-quote Maybank website

I guess not anymore!

Signing off.

A while back I went to the Pangkor Laut Resort.
I really enjoyed myself a lot moving out from the rat race, even just for a few days.
I love KL but at times, I really need a place away from the hustle bustle city and the pollution, the traffic jams, the list goes on. Looks like I don't really love KL after all. heh.

Our stay on the Hill Villa.
Apparently there are other villas like sea villa, beach villa and blahblahblah, and I guess Hill Villa is the closest to the tree elfs.#canseeTarzanalso

After so many hours in the car, I definitely need to try out the bath tub first!

There is also a balcony outside your room, can see sunset and sunrise #wahpiang

The second day.
While passing by the bar.
Let me pretend I am checking out the scenery. #cheatone
Please don't judge me kthx

Asked Leon to take one of those really artsy-fancy kind of "running to the beach' kind of picture. Ended up I got this. Too messed up le sigh.

And what I am thinking is like this:

SUCH A VAST DIFFERENCE

Ok. everywhere is full with these kind of pot with flower petals.
So preets.

Getting to know Pangkor Laut Resort, they have a few restaurants around and honestly speaking, they are all very delicious. For breakfast, we've chosen the fusion buffet that is near to our villa. The choices of the breakfast is quite crazy! There are so many choices that I… I … I lost count!
Croissant and hash brown is the bomb!

Man, I really need a break from KL. Look at the view! Let's go swim!

But Leon says don't want swim. Want play with the Jacuzzi.

Super childish I tell you. I thought he's 5 at that moment but actually his real age doubled don't know how many times ugh.

So I did have time for *vain pictures.

Next to the swimming pool there is another restaurant that we headed for lunch.
Everything is free (included in the package) Just eat and sign your name. Hassle free! Never have to face the reality that you actually have to pay for food after meal, just sign your room number! #supercoolz

Ordered seaweed salad. errr. It's too "green" for me.

Looking all the wild life around is just fun. Lizard freaking big you know! Saw one on the road is like giant 3-feet but didn't manage to take a picture of it.

Main dish  Yums. Super yummy #forgotname

This is my Lam Mee with black sauce, also quite nice.

Can order dessert also! Apple crumble with ice cream.
Apple crumble is too sweet.  :(

Our dinner on day 2 and 3 is at Uncle Lim's kitchen. Uncle Lim serves the top notch Chinese cuisine. All the dishes in the menu is perfect! Even the bakchoy, man I miss those.

Loving the details of the crockery.

Zomok the scenery so pretty one...
Pardon my face.

Went Kayak after that and realized both Leon and me cannot work together one. The kayak don't know head where and at one point I nearly gave up and break up. LOL no way it's true? Yes way. I am very impatient and bossy I must say. Trying to check that for my 2015 resolution.

The next day, we tried out their Spa.

The whole process of the spa is exhilarating and... awkward. Cause someone will bathe you wtf first timer here.
I thought I am a queen or something.

And before that you have to go through a ritual of Indonesian culture kind of blessing the bathe (not too sure but, yeah, something like that)
Have to walk to the another end with crossed hand on chest. Super culture shock

And you have to make a wish.
I wished for more wishes but oh well. #pun

And you bathe yourself and get into this warm pool.
All my nerves just got so relaxed they sticked together. Cantonese: Chisin. HAHA

The view from the little warm pool.

After that, the masseur bathe me (awkward -.-), really scrub your back you know! (err) and then we proceed to the massage.
So being ME as usual,  I asked Leon if the masseur bathe the guys too and the answer is a yes. HAHAHAHAH

"Wah, then she saw your ..... loh! What is her reaction?hahahaha"
"She goes like WAHHHH"
ok.jpg

After spa have to go check out the spa pool (there are 2 pools in Pangkor Laut Resort)

Free grab soiled towels with flowers<3 wahhhh

Photo shooting session 3,2,1 start!
Pose 1.

Pose 2.

Pose 3.

Pose 4.

Ok see the clouds.

SO many glam glam pic here is one unglam one

Leon playing with the mini waterfall.

It's really pretty relax to swim in a nice infinity pool. The view often take away my breath.

Everybody is forced to put the flower on head after that.
Never know Leon can be so pretty. HAHAHAHA

Even Leon's mama have to do it. #bossycarina

Wild life everywhere. First time seen a green snake. #jakun So tiny. #socute

You got chauffeured to everywhere here.
For example, today we are going to the beach!

Clean sand and water. Blue sky and white clouds.
That's the best adjective ever.

Run!!!

It's us it's us!
Didn't really enjoyed myself at the beach cause the sea water stung my skin. I have zero idea why.

The next day, Leon woke me up to catch sunrise since didn't managed to watch sunset.
And out villa is the side hill villa with a lot of trees, end up this is the only view I saw.
Feel so con so vent on Leon again.
haha. Sumpah have to get the worst gf award 2015.

Our last meal  in Pulau Pangkor Resort.
The kebab beef is the best one I ever had so far.

Leon's burger. A little dry.

And we head back to the hustle bustle city.

Ops. Gotta get my supper now!
